sooooooo stinking HOT!!!!!

It is so hot today. I hate the heat. I love cold weather. This morning Colleen and I filled up her pool and played in it. That was fun, but now it is wayyyyyyyyy too hot to be outside. Rory put foil in our upstairs windows to try and keep it cooler up there. You know what sounds good? A happy hour slushie from Sonic, but then I would have to go out into the heat to get it.
I have krazy glue on my fingers. I was gluing seashells on a picture frame and somehow I managed to get the glue all over my fingers. I think I'll be working on peeling it off for a few days. That is so totally something I would do though. I'm not surprised. I don't know how many of you have heard the story of when I super glued my cuddle duds to my jeans. In case you don't know, cuddle duds are women's long johns, but super soft and cozy. I was wearing them under a pair of jeans one day in Alaska. I don't remember what I was working on, but I was using super glue. For some reason I put the little tube of super glue in my pocket. I guess over the course of the day, the super glue leaked all in my pocket and I did not notice. When I went to get undressed that night, I realized that I super glued my jeans to my cuddle duds. So, from that point on I had a pair of permanently lined jeans. It worked ok in the winter.

Reality TV, heartburn, and clean dogs

I have kinda become addicted to reality tv, but not the trashy reality tv that the rest of America watches. Currently I am watching Deadliest Catch. Its about Alaska crab fishing. The guys on those boats work such dangerous jobs every day. Not to mention the crazy cold temperatures. Another show I find interesting is Dog The Bounty Hunter. Its such a silly show and his family is so overly dramatic, but its kinda interesting to watch them go catch people. My favorite show to watch though is Iron Chef. Every show they have a secret ingredient. The chef and the challenger need to make 5 dishes in one hour. 3 judges judge them on flavor, plating, and originality. Its fun to watch.
I had wendy's for lunch. I love their value menu. Today I made the mistake of eating fries. It gave me heartburn so bad.
Today my dogs also got baths. Colleen helped give them baths. She was so cute. Her job was to wash their faces and tell them it was ok. Isn't weird how even though dogs are clean, as long as they are wet they still stink. My house smelled like wet dogs and burning candles all day. Now they are dry though and they smell good and are super soft. I love clean dogs.

I got a new cell phone and I was reading the book that came with it and under the warnings I read "do not try to dry your phone in a microwave oven." Do you think people actually tried that enough that they had to warn us not to do it? I laughed and laughed.

Friday

I'm so tired today. Work called Rory at 5am this morning and I couldn't fall back asleep. Then the trash men came at 6. They are so noisy. Colleen is napping. I should be napping now too, but I just can't bring myself to lay down. I changed the sheets on my bed and I'm doing laundry and I cleaned out the junk drawer. I know everybody has a junk drawer. Mine was so full I couldn't open it anymore, so I had to finally go through it and clean stuff out. There were pictures in there from years ago. Sara-I had pictures in there from when you came up to Alaska and from Anaconda when we met you and Brian there. That seems like forever ago. I need to go back to Anaconda some day soon. I love that place. Its just so chill. So relaxing, because there's not much going on. As my friend Charlie put it "You are the party when you go to Anaconda, Montana"
Anyways, It has been pretty boring here lately, so there isn't much to blog about. Rory works all weekend, so Colleen and I will just hang out. We like to go to the library. I now is sounds dull, but Colleen loves to read. The library is actually quite fun. They have some pretty good movies you can check out and its free. Free means a lot when you're living on military salary.

Having a fat day

I'm so having a fat day. I felt fat in all my clothes I put on today. Have any of you girls ever had a day where you just feel fat and are only comfortable in your jammies? Thats me today. So stinking bloated. I think I'll put my jammies back on until I go out again.

my weekend

My weekend went by kind of fast. Friday night we went next door, because they were having a bbq. It was fun, but we left around 830, so we could get colleen into bed. By that time most everybody there was super drunk. I wonder who was watching all the kids after we left. I like having a drink or two every now and then, but I don't see the fun in getting wasted. I just don't understand it. Saturday we went to Raleigh for a Brooks and Dunn and Sugarland concert. I'm not that big into country music, but it was super fun watching colleen dance. Plus it was an outdoor concert, so it was fun being outside and the moon was awesome. Again, there were tons of drunk people stumbling around. Stupid drunk people made me laugh a few times.
Mother's Day was yesterday. We went to church. They called all the mothers to the front of the church and gave us a few books as gifts. It was nice. Then for an early dinner we were going to go to smokey bones so I could eat some yummy bbq chicken nachos, but they were too busy, so we ate at IHOP. It was still yummy. All in all it was a good weekend.

I cut my bangs

I was growing my bangs out. They were pretty long. Almost to my ears. The last few days they just haven't been cooperating. Today I just couldn't do anything with them, so in a moment of rage I cut them short again. I am so angry with my bangs. Just don't know what to do with them. Don't know what to do with my hair period. For the past few years I've had the pony tail look every day. I do nothing, but put it in a pony tail. I read somewhere though, that the pony tail is back in style. Its hard to have a style though when you have thick hair in humid weather. I have nothing more to say to or about my hair. I'm done.

Mother's day

I can never think of anything special to get my mom for mother's day. I just don't know what to do. I always go through this. I sent her a card. Is a card and a phone call enough though? All I see on TV is advertisements for flowers for mom, diamonds for mom, gift certificates for mom. Is just a card too cheap of a gift these days? I don't know what to do. Its probably too late to get something and mail it. Am I a bad kid? If only I lived closer to her. I could make her a yummy breakfast or go out to dinner.

Thursday

Today is Thursday. Tomorrow is Friday. I hate Fridays, only because the trash and recycle people come at like 6am and are super noisy and wake colleen and I up. I can guarantee I'll be up by 630 on Fridays. I mean Colleen usually wakes up at 7:00 or shortly after, but that 30-60 minutes makes such a huge difference. Is it bad to love sleep? I don't sleep a lot, only about 7 hours a night if that, but I love it when I do sleep. I love sleep!!! I think I'll go to bed now.
