I love spring

I love spring. I love fall. I love winter. I'm not so into summer. The only time I like summer is when we're on the beach. Maybe if I lived in a different climate I'd like summer. Fall is my favorite. Today I enjoyed a picnic in the park with the kids. One of the pleasures of spring. Soon it will be too hot to fully enjoy the park.

Rory likes dipping potato chips in cream cheese. I think he is kinda weird. Plain cream cheese. So odd. He has passed this down to colleen. She also likes this as a treat.

The other day Colleen made Nolan laugh so hard that he spit up and had baby cereal come out his nose. It shocked him and he wouldn't take a breath. It was kinda scary in the moment. I guess now Colleen can say she was the first one to make nolan laugh so hard that food came out his nose.

I bought a dress to wear for Easter service. Yes, I am going to wear a dress. Shocking, I know. I usually wear jeans to church. I'll take a picture of colleen and I all dressed up.

I bought myself some cadbury creme eggs for the Easter bunny to leave when he leaves the kids baskets.

I've been dying to fly a kite lately. I haven't flown a kite since my childhood. One of these days I will take Colleen to a park to fly a kite.

living up to my full potential

In less than 19 days I will be turning 29. Nine years ago I had a conversation with Doug, the hockey instructor and women's hockey coach at UAA. Sara had previously played with the team and he was trying to talk me into coming out, because they needed some more girls. I told him I didn't really have a lot of time with work and classes. I remember exactly what he told me word for word. He said "seriously, you have the rest of your life to work. You are 20 years old. Right now is when you should see what your body can do physically. Push yourself to find your full potential on the ice. This is when you can be in the best physical shape of your life. You really need to think about that" I did think about it. I didn't play with the team. But, I was in really good shape back then. I played hockey for fun, snowboarded, and jogged a lot. After having 2 kids, I'm not in the shape I used to be in. Lately I've really been wanting to get back into good physical shape. Really working out hard. I have plans on working into that. I was thinking about also applying that to everything about my life. Am I doing all that I can or should be doing? Something to think about.

Change of subject, usually I have a cd or 2 that I listen to for the week. Cds of the week are Weezer and Mat Kearney.

Its Friday

All day I have been thinking that today was Saturday. I didn't figure out until around noon that it is only Friday. Guess I don't have to set my clocks forward tonight. Weird feeling to realize that its not the day you think it is. I remember one time when Sara and I were younger( I think we were in 3rd or 4th grade), we were invited to a neighbor's birthday party. Our mom fixed our hair and we got all dressed up. We were excited to go to this party. We wrapped up our gift and we were off. We arrived at the home and knocked on the door. I think the mother answered and saw us all dressed up. She asked "are you coming to the party tomorrow?" Boy, did we feel dumb. I bet I can write a pretty thick book on all Janel's embarrassing moments. I've had some good ones.

5 ways to protect your memory

This weeks Woman's World magazine had an article listing 5 ways to protect your memory. My memory isn't that great, so I was interested in reading this.
1. Eat fish: Omega-3s improve brain function
2. Drink a glass of red wine: wine drinkers have a lower rate of Alzheimers
3. Take folic acid
4. Exercise
5. Get plenty of rest

Seems simple enough. I don't mind fish. I like red wine. My vitamins have folic acid in them. I try to exercise when I can. I don't get much sleep with the baby(he's teething), but I know eventually I will. Ok, I forgot where I was going with this blog.
