We're Home

We're home from visiting Sara. We had lots of fun. It was really relaxing spending time in Idaho and Montana. Colleen had a ton of fun with her auntie Sara. I think she had more fun in Idaho though, because she had some nasty allergies in Montana. She fell in love with Sara's dog Sadie. Sadie is really good with kids. Rory also had a good time on the trip. He really enjoyed golfing with Sara. He's already talking about wanting to take another trip out that way. I knew once I got him out there he would love it. It was hard coming back to North Carolina, but my parents are coming for the 4th and then Sara comes in a couple weeks, so we're looking forward to that.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day dad! Don't know if my dad reads this, but thought I'd send a shout out to him. He's in Washington at my brother's graduation from his Master's program. Colleen picked out a strawberry shortcake card for Rory for father's day. Its cute. We won't see him much tomorrow though, because this is his working weekend. Maybe I'll make breakfast for him. I wonder if he'd rather have poptarts or lucky charms.
We leave soon to visit Sara. I'm getting super excited. Colleen is too. She just wants to pack everything she owns. Last night she was asking if Auntie Sara has a TV and today she was wondering if she has a house for her little people toys. I'm pretty sure Sara doesn't have the little people house though and we are not packing it. I'm trying to pack light, but I don't know if that is possible with a 2 year old and Rory's golf clubs. With just Rory's golf clubs and Colleen's car seat it does not feel like packing light. then you have to add our suitcases and carry-ons. It'll be fun getting to the airport, especially since I can't carry anything too heavy being prego and all. Good Times.

1 week

One week and we will be hanging out in Pocatello, ID. I am so excited to be going to Idaho. I know a lot of people would think something is wrong with me, because I'm excited to go to Idaho. Well, I think Idaho is grrrrrrreat. Especially, because Sara is there.

Happy Anniversary

Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary. Rory and I have been married 8 years. Time so flies. Crazy how time flies. I saw a cute little old couple walking in a parking lot the other day holding hands. It looked so sweet. Little old couples are the cutest things. I hope we'll end up being a little old couple.
Today Colleen got her very own library card. I take her there every week to get books, but today I got her a card so she can use it to check out her own books. She was so excited to have her own library card. It was soo cute. Then we spent the afternoon playing. Colleen has this little doctor's kit for baby dolls. Today she was giving me a check up with it. She made me pretend to stand on a scale and told me I weigh two hundred and forty thousand pounds. I know I've gained pregnancy weight, but I had no idea it was that much. Then she looked in my ears and told me my problem was that I have crabs in my ears. Kids are so silly, they make me laugh.

Nice people make me happy

To enter Fort Bragg you have to go through a military check point. Normally they scan your ID and you proceed. Today the nicest gate guard was working and he made my day. It was in the upper 90s today and mega humid, so the poor guy is in the hot, black uniform just drenched in sweat. As I pulled up and handed him my card, he tipped his hat to me and said "Good afternoon mam." Then he scanned my card and said so kindly "Be safe, Keep the faith, and don't let anybody drag you down." I just like nice people that put a smile on your face.

Irritating things about pregnancy

I love being pregnant. It is such a blessing and feeling the baby moving and kicking is so much fun. But, there are a few things about pregnancy that are irritating. Hormones to start. Hormones cause me to be so emotional and irritable. For example, yesterday I cried because I had to kill a roach. I cried more about the fact that there was a roach then the actually killing of the roach. The other day it was hot and I did not like it. It made me crabby. We were on our way home from walmart, when at a red light Rory noticed something was wrong. He asked me what was wrong and I snapped at him that it was too hot to sit at a red light. Another irritating thing about pregnancy is that I cannot do dishes without getting my belly all wet. It happens every single time. So frustrating. Also frustrating is the fact that when you are pregnant you constantly have to pee. Constantly. I get up a minimum of two times during the night to use the bathroom. No wonder I'm always tired. I may have to wear Depends on the flight to visit Sara, so that I don't have to use the closet bathroom 4 times during the 4 hour flight. I hate airplane bathrooms. They are tiny and smell. Speaking of smells, when a woman is pregnant her sense of smell becomes super sensitive. I smell things that nobody else can and certain smells bother me that usually wouldn't. I had some shampoo that I had to throw out, because the smell made me nauseous. The last thing that is frustrating about being pregnant is sleeping. You can't sleep on your stomach or back when you are prego, so that leaves sleeping on one side or the other. To sleep comfortably I must have a pillow between my knees and under my belly. Luckily, some genius invented body pillows, so I just prop that between my knees and under my belly. The tricky thing is when I need to roll over. I have to bring my body pillow and my belly with me when I roll over. It is quite a task.
In the end though, I love being pregnant. So much fun. I don't have to lift heavy things and Rory gets to clean the bathrooms for 9 months.
